About the hikkikomori thing, japan isn’t even in the top % of not in employment, education, or training. In european countries it’s up to 26% in some places with women slightly more than men https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php?title=Statistics_on_young_people_neither_in_employment_nor_in_education_or_training but most of those women are probably managing the house and children or helping out at home. This is just the stages of collapse of the current system. Many women and working adults in Japan have been “dissapering”, it’s become a trend, quietly wrapping up their financial matters, cashing out, leaving no trace of personal identification or accounts, and (most likely, it’s implied) going elsewhere to live out the rest of their life away on cash away from the rotting system.
Japan places lots of importance on “understanding and empathy” especially for mothers, think 1950’s tier perfect angel of the home type shit. These social workers are just there to gaslight and keep parents from making these men homeless, most likely bc they know it’ll end up with lots of insane men wreaking havoc on innocents.
